Another week complete, another list of faves:
Ketchup: it’s convenient, it’s a summer BBQ staple and it’s an easy way to get kids (and ourselves) to eat healthy foods. But most brands are highly processed, not to mention loaded with undesirable ingredients like HFCS. That’s why I’m determined to make the switch to homemade ketchup, and I’m starting off with these two recipes from Two Tarts and Skinnytaste.
Getting bored with my workout routine is probably my single biggest fitness problem, which is why I just bookmarked this post about Fresh Workout Ideas from One Fit Foodie.
I read Fat Mum Slim’s blog almost entirely for her fantastic photos, so I’m thrilled she did a rundown of her Favorite iPhone Photography Apps.
Happy Friday!

Welcome, I'm Kristen! I'm a 20-something mother of two working to make exercise and healthy eating a simpler and more enjoyable part of life. I love lifting, running, being outdoors and enjoying food in all it's healthy and not-so-healthy forms. I believe that happiness is as essential to 'healthy living' as exercise and vegetables - that's why I never turn down dessert!

I LOVE ketchup!!! I actually like the reduced-sugar kind with Splenda even better! I know I’m nuts but I think it’s a little more tangy or something =)
I don’t think I’ve ever even noticed Splenda-sweetened ketchup on the shelves. I’ll have to look out for that in case the homemade versions don’t turn out too well – there are some foods that are just plain better out of a bottle, processed ingredients and all!
Agreed, sometimes I get in a ketchup rut where I slather copius amounts it on everything! That’s why experimenting with making a low sugar version is on my to do list:)
Ketchup is just too good to cut out of my diet, no matter the sugar content. Report back if you find a great low-sugar version!
