Meals and Goals for the Week: October 8th

How can we possibly be in the second week of October already? Here in south Florida it’s still as hot and humid as ever…how I miss fall in the northeast! Even though it’s nowhere near cold here, I’m still craving fall food – I’ve got chili already in the slow cooker for tonight!   Looking back on last week’s workouts, I hit 4 of out my 7 fitness goals: Lindsay Brin cardio/toning workout Lindsay Brin core workout ZWOW workout #36 Run – I did somewhere in the range of 2 to 2.25 miles but of course my GPS crapped out about 3 min into the run...

Meals and Goals for the Week: October 1st

I never got around to posting last week’s meals and goals, but I ended up going light on the exercise, so I probably wouldn’t have met the goals anyway. Monday I did my Keep It Simple workout A, Tuesday I did a Lindsay Brin 10-min cardio workout and Saturday I finally did my first post-baby run! I logged 2 hard-earned miles (at an admittedly slow pace), which I know is nothing to brag about. But as a novice runner, the farthest distance I’ve ever run (before baby #2) was no more than 2.5 miles, so I’m thrilled that I’m not back at square one after not running...

Another week, another meal plan, another set of fitness goals. But first let’s see how I did with last week’s meals and goals: 2 core workouts from Lindsay Brin’s Bootcamp 2 DVD: Done! I did core workout #2, which was a good step up from #1. 3 toning + cardio workouts from Lindsay Brin’s Bootcamp 2: No. I did two of the three workouts I was aiming for, which isn’t bad. I moved up to workout #2 which is way tougher than workout #1 – we’re talking squat thrusts, push-ups, mountain climbers and other killer moves. 2 Zumba for Wii workouts: Done!...

Bliss

I have a new definition of bliss, and it involves me sitting on the couch, fresh off a ZWOW workout and a hot shower, eating a turkey sandwich and chips while the baby sleeps and the toddler is in preschool. As usual, I was too hungry to stop and take a picture of my meal before I scarfed it, but it included these chips, which are my favorite. I know: baked chips shouldn’t be anyone’s favorite, but come on, paint chips would taste amazing if they were coated in enough orange cheese dust: I know it’s not the most compelling photo, but I hate posting without adding photos and...

Meals and Goals for the Week: Sept. 10

Now that I’m six weeks postpartum I’ve officially been cleared by my midwife to start exercising again. My excitement about this milestone is tempered only by the fact that I won’t be able to jog with my baby for several months, which means I can only go running on the weekends (when my husband is around and I can exercise child-free). Fortunately, running isn’t the only form of exercise I’ve been looking forward to, so I have plenty to keep me busy the other 5 days of the week. On Friday I tried out Lindsay Brin’s Bootcamp 2 DVD for the first time. The DVD...
