Unless you’re viewing this in a reader, you’ve probably noticed I gave my blog a visual makeover. And if you’ve been reading for a few months (thank you, by the way!) you know it’s not the first time. I’ve been playing around with layouts and themes ever since I started the blog, and I think I’ve finally found one I’m happy with – at least for now! I’m still tweaking a few things, including background color, so please forgive any weirdness you might notice on the blog over the next few days. I should have it all figured out soon.
Moving on…some tidbits from the weekend:
Lately I’ve been waking up HUNGRY in the mornings, but my appetite decreases as the day goes on (a complete reversal of the usual; I typically have to force myself to eat breakfast but can’t get enough food after 6pm). So I woke up this morning and made my first ever attempt at oatmeal pancakes. I added some chocolate chips, and they were WAY better than expected. I’m planning on posting the recipe this week, after I tweak it a little bit and take some better photos. For now, all I have is this crappy pic – sorry, but I never seem to remember to snap a picture until I’ve scarfed the meal and all that’s left is some sad-looking leftovers. And yes, there are chocolate chips in there somewhere:
Aside from the hearty breakfasts, all I seem to crave is huge glasses of ice water and cold, refreshing snacks – applesauce, watermelon and popsicles. I loved these plastic bag popsicles (Pop-Ice?) when I was a kid, and only just rediscovered them about a year ago. And just like I remember, the green ones are the best:
Finally, I got myself some pretty new nail polish as a little pick-me-up at the drugstore this afternoon. I’ve reached that point in pregnancy where I feel like no amount of makeup and styling can save me, and I don’t have the energy to try anyway. But bright nail polish? Easy, cute and fun – even on swollen hands and feet
